Cancer Survivors Start A Fresh Chapter by Volunteering in India

The Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation (FCAF) is excited to partner with Phase One – The Road To Curing Cancer as its fiscal sponsor because like you, we believe hope is found in ideas, cancer touches everyone, and our focus needs to be on new paradigms and new perspectives.

FCAF is launching a revolutionary idea of international volunteer trips as a way to help survivors heal emotionally from cancer. We have carefully selected twelve cancer survivors to participate in our two-week volunteer pilot program in New Delhi, India with Cross-Cultural Solutions. The program will start February 16, 2013 and we have already kicked off fundraising efforts to raise the approximately $60,000 needed to cover the cost of flights, film production, and research.

The Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation’s Objectives:

1. To create unique programming that allows cancer survivors an opportunity to volunteer internationally with the hope of shifting their perspectives and helping them find new meaning and purpose in their lives;
2. To start a conversation about the often not discussed emotional challenges survivors face after treatment ends;
3. To shine a light on cancer in the developing world as a way of alleviating some of the secrecy, stigma, and shame cancer patients face globally.

Phase One has provided critical funding for countless clinical trials to ensure more and more people are surviving cancer. Now, FCAF is using innovation, fresh ideas, and strategic partnerships to create a world where no cancer survivor walks out the door on their final day of treatment feeling alone and like the support has ended. Thank you for helping bring the next big idea to life.
